Burnin' out my fuse up here, alone.

Me

Me (sort of).

This is the page where I will reveal deeply personal stuff. We shall delve deeply into my psyche and uncover the truth about who I am. Not. Like I’m going to post stuff like that on the web where a total stragner could stumble upon it with a (un)lucky Google search. :-P Just the same, I suppose I can tell you a few things about myself.

My full name is Christian Naylor, and yes, I am. If you look around a little bit you should be able to figure out what one of my main hobbies is. My primary motivation for putting this site up was to have a place where I could put up my drawings. It wasn’t as much fun just drawing them and not being able to show them to the people I know miles and miles away. It also wasn’t all that convenient to show them to my local friends since the colored versions were digital. I’d like to try to do a little more than just drawing the occasional image, but I haven’t been able to work out all the details of what I’d like to do. I’ll figure it out eventually (maybe find someone to help).

My other interesest tend to revolve around movies, books, and music. The music usually tends to come from somewhere in the late 70s to the early 90s (just you wait, the 80s WILL be cool) in the Rock/Pop category. I also buy quite a few soundtracks. My taste in movies tends to be light comedy and/or sci-fi/fantasy (mostly fantasy). My fiction collections tends to fall along the same lines. Only a few of the entries in my collection tend to carry any real intellectual weight. The primary reason for this is that how a movie/book/whatever presents itself has a direct impact on how I evaluate it. If a movie (etc) doesn’t take itself seriously, then I probably won’t either. If, on the other hand, a I see that a film tries to present a serious case for some idea, then I have no choice but to evaluate it based on that idea. For me, the idea becomes the movie (this is why I stopped liking the Matrix BEFORE the sequels). Some ideas are good, some are bad, some fall somewhere in the middle. Most of the time I don’t need to see these again once I’ve figured out what it’s trying to say, and all too often…I don’t want to. I will try to entertain views and ideas different than my own, but eventually I have to make a choice whether or not to accept it. Most of the time I find myself in conflict with the ideas presented in movies, therefore I don’t enjoy them, therefore I don’t buy them. That when on for a bit longer thatn I expected. Moving on.

Actually, aside from a brief mention of my affinity for Anime and Manga (if you blinked you missed it) I don’t have a whole lot more to say about myself. Honestly I don’t like to write these little bio bits and you’ll probably find out more about me by looking around the site a little bit than you will be reading this.

I guess I could say that I’m a GNU/Linux user (Ubuntu right now); I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in May of 2005; I live and work in Urbana, IL, USA; I like Mexican food; and my favorite Foreigner song is “I Want to Know What Love Is”. There, I said it.

There, es finito.
